The Legacy Continues…

As the daughter of Edna Glaspie Carroll, Dr. Felita C. Carr is deeply committed to preserving and advancing her mother’s legacy. In founding the Edna Glaspie Carroll Memorial Nursing Scholarship, Dr. Carr envisioned honoring her mother’s lifelong dedication to nursing by supporting future generations of nursing students.

While Dr. Carr initiated the establishment of the scholarship, it has been sustained through the collective efforts of the entire Carroll family and friends, who are united in their mission to keep Edna Glaspie Carroll’s memory alive. Together, they work to ensure that this scholarship continues to provide financial assistance and promote diversity in the nursing profession.

For the Carroll family, this scholarship is more than a tribute to Edna Glaspie Carroll’s distinguished career. It is a way of passing on her values of empathy, perseverance, and service to future healthcare professionals. By supporting aspiring nurses, the family aims to ease their academic journey, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed, while inspiring them to carry forward her legacy of excellence in nursing.
